Date & Format
The event will be a one-day-only tournament hosted on Saturday, July 25, consisting of 4 rounds of debate (3 in-rounds and 1 out-round).
Summer Tournament
Join us on July 25 for our upcoming high school debate tournament!
Categories
There will be two open competitive categories: Junior High and Senior High. Debaters will be placed into the category corresponding to the grade they are completing in 2026.
Speaking Categories
To ensure a supportive environment for all skill levels, we will offer separate speaking categories for Open and Beginner speakers.
Teaming
Hybrid teams will be allowed. Teams consisting of a Junior High student and Senior High student will compete in the Senior High Open category.
Judging & Chaperoning
University debaters will serve as Chairs for the debate rounds, though parent judges may be needed depending on attendance. Please note that parents and or coaches will be required to chaperone their children during the event.
Policies & Equity
Full tournament policy regarding technology use and equitable participation will be released on June 8th.
